The Absurdity of Modern Deportation

Ghana to DHS:
“Nope”
Fashionista Fascisti Kristi Noem’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has once again shown its knack for international fiascos, declaring plans to deport Kilmar Abrego Garcia to Ghana [1], [3]. Apparently, they just announce these things and expect everyone to play along. Ghana says, “I don’t think so…”
This isn’t just “a rumor”we’re thinking about it, or “here’s an idea”; DHS actually issued a notice about this [1], with international media picking up the story on October 10, 2025 [6]. Garcia himself is due back in court on Friday, and his lawyers are probably already rubbing their hands together – and massaging their temples. [3].
Ghana Tells DHS to Pound Sand
While DHS was busy making plans, Ghana, through Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has unequivocally stated its refusal to accept the deportee [2], [4], [6]. Ablakwa took to social media on October 10, reaffirming Ghana’s official communication that Garcia isn’t welcome [2].
Ghana is not accepting Abrego Garcia. He cannot be deported to Ghana. This has been directly and unambiguously conveyed to U.S. authorities.
– Ghana Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa
DHS is making this shit up as they go along.
This isn’t just a polite refusal; Ghana is calling bullshit on U.S. reports, making it clear there’s “no deal” to accept Abrego Garcia [6]. This clown show would be funny if it weren’t so damn serious for the man involved.
A Man Caught in the Crossfire
Abrego Garcia’s case is already a mess, with U.S. court filings indicating DHS had considered Eswatini and Uganda previously, following a “wrongful deportation” [4]. Can you point to Eswatini on a map? I couldn’t, and I damn sure don’t believe Trump or Noem could either.
To add insult to injury, a U.S. judge recently rejected his asylum bid, labeling it the “latest turn” in an already convoluted saga [7]. Add in his lawyers asking for his case to be dismissed because of vindictive prosecution, and you’ve got a mess of epic proportions
The Bureaucratic Blunder Continues
So, we have a man who was allegedly “wrongfully deported,” denied asylum, and now caught between a U.S. agency’s decree and an entire nation’s refusal [4], [7], [2]. It’s a testament to the fact that sometimes, even global powers can’t get their shit together, leaving individuals to pay the price.
